We had a very emotional weekend down in Wellfleet, Cape Cod this past weekend. James' grandfather and Thayer's namesake, Harry, passed away two weeks ago. The family of his wife Kathleen, 6 children, 18 grandkids, and 7 great grandkids came together to celebrate his life. We rented a house and hosted a little after party on Saturday night. The memorial was Saturday afternoon. After a brief Mass people stood up and spoke about Harry for almost 2 hours, it was so moving. We all feasted on potluck (which in the cape they should charge for) of homemade clam chowder, lobster salsa, cornbread, and baked oysters! The music was so beautiful too, how can it NOT be with this family? What an event. He would have been so proud and happy to see this celebration. I'm so thrilled to be able to call myself a Parkington and be a part of this amazing family. It truly was so special and Harry will be deeply missed.
