"Cation Ovah" (Vacation is Over)

Boo. Our staycation was just too short. We had such an amazing week having the Dad Unit home...we went to Maine for 2 days, hit up Storyland and York Wild Kingdom, visited Great Island Common, went to the lake and ocean, walked up Wagon Hill, spent some time doing projects around the house, played tourist in our own town and ate out several meals, got ice cream, saw many friends including Billy & Larkyn (who now live in UT), and most of all RELAXED. The weather cooperated and we were all sad to send James back to work on Monday.
It's a gross 88 degrees here right now (and has been for days, previous photos are of our completely nudey kids). Attempts to beat the heat include sitting in AC in our house, sitting in the 3' diameter pool under a sun tent in the back yard, and the beach...I made my first AND LAST solo trek to the beach with the kids today. It was miserable. The beach was hotter than our house because there was no wind. And Kerris refused to go into the water. So we ate an abbreviated lunch and hit the road. Thayer, who had been up since 5am was exhausted and wailing. It was a sight not to be duplicated!
