Challenges Continue

They certainly do. Thayer has decided to pretty much crawl for a week and skip right to walking. He pulls himself up on everything and is trying to walk along the furniture. He is far ahead of Kerris at this stage.

And perhaps it's the teeth coming in or the desire to walk (and no longer a cold/illness) but Thayer has been a real challenge; waking at all hours in the night and sometimes for two hour stretches at a time! I pretty much had to sleep train him again last night and then for today's nap but hopefully this will mean a little stretch of shut-eye for all.

Music Class was cancelled last week because Sally forgot her keys. So we went to Rumble Tumble, an indoor gym, instead. Kerris threw a tantrum when they "shut the door" or closed because she was having so much fun. I guess we'll probably go back sometime soon.

Aunt Kate came to visit on Friday night on her way up to Hermit Island. We hung out with her and her friend Sarah for a little while on Saturday morning outside.Over the weekend the Mom Unit was off running errands and came inside to find this; the boys watching the Sox game.
James played at The Press Room on Saturday night with his buddy Dave Rather. It was a fun show! James sounded great and released his new album Dandelion Eyes.A clip from the show.

We had a nice Columbus Day weekend. James had Monday off and we went out to dinner a few times and just enjoyed being around the kids. James finished off his landscaping on the side of the house where he removed the chainlink fence and I'm almost done painting the front porch. It keeps dipping into the 30s at night and then it's in the 50s in the day so we're hoping for one more warm stretch to finish!

Kerris continues to amaze us with her comprehension and speech. I love her little speech nuances like "inside backwards" instead of "inside out" and a "Hunderdog" when I push her on the swing. Her sunbutter and jelly sandwich is a "somebody and jelly san-wich". And I should write more down because she's constantly making me chuckle.

Today is day two of napping in undies, fingers crossed the bed stays dry!

Kerris is also now recognizing when a slow song comes on the stereo. She says "look at this song, it's so sad" with a pouty lip.

And forget it. Last Halloween Kerris was obsessed with pumpkins. This Halloween she continues to point out all of the scarecrows and ghosts and is terrified of them. Thanks again to yours truly bringing her into the Halloween section at Target, that even scared me!

Auntie Roo should be here any minute and our friends Mike and Squirrel will be here for the weekend for the NH Film Festival. We're looking forward to all the excitement!
