Chillin' at Poco's

It’s April 23rd, my mom’s 60th birthday, and I’m enjoying a few quiet hours sans Kerris. I dropped her off at the babysitter’s this morning and then spent 2 hours cleaning the house for two more showings. The thermometer on my car read 85 degrees and I decided to come to Borders and skip the gym since building the rest of the stonewall out front this afternoon is enough of a workout anyway. After spending $4.05 for an almond latte I realized free wi-fi was out of the question. So instead I’m sitting next to a guy who keeps having pseudo asthma attacks and burping while I draft my blog. Pleasant. I’m feeling a little lost without KP but it’s good for her to socialize with other kids and great for the mom unit too. All four of her top teeth are coming in right now so she’s been a bit of a pill, understandably.

My Grandmother fell yesterday. Apparently after oral surgery they left her alone and she dropped out of the dentist chair. Hmm, that smells like negligence … but she’s doing ok from what they can tell. Nothing is broken.

On Monday we had lunch with Babs and Casey in Portsmouth at Poco’s. It was great to see them and troll around the seacoast. We popped in on Jag as he was in the middle of gutting his store IDENTITY and expanding into the space next door. This is a brief video of Kerris and Casey talking.

Kerris spent some time with Grandma yesterday going for a little walk around the block and then hanging out on the front lawn while I moved rocks, earth, and gravel. Her personality shows more and more every day. She definitely lets you know when she’s not happy and she has started waving more consistently. The wave, however, is inverted. So she’s always waving to herself. But it’s cute nonetheless.

***Since I drafted this blog earlier today we have since found out some good and bad news. The bad news is my grandmother is not doing well and we’re waiting for a more detailed report. The good news is our friends Andrew and Rachel welcomed their second son today, Boden Dennis Price. And the really excellent news is that we finally got an offer on the house!
